Egypt Daily News – The Ministry of Education and Technical Education led the second session of community dialogue activities on the proposal for the “Egyptian Baccalaureate” certificate system, in the presence of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, with the boards of trustees, parents and teachers at the level. republic. This is with the aim of listening to various visions and proposals regarding the details of the “Egyptian Baccalaureate” certificate proposal.

Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education, said that the new system prepares a more prepared graduate according to the programs taught in each sector and their coordination in the pre-university education stage with the university education stage. For this reason, it is of great importance to prepare a qualified graduate who is able and ready to keep pace with the needs of the labor market.

He added that the past year witnessed an increase in the percentage of people enrolled in university education by 40% in the fields of artificial intelligence, and the trend now is no longer just studying medicine and engineering, but rather the standards are changing according to the requirements imposed by the labor market.

Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, indicated that holding a community dialogue regarding the “Egyptian Baccalaureate” system aims to reach a unified vision agreed upon by various segments of society, in a way that enhances integration between pre-university education and university education, given that the university stage is an extension of naturally for the secondary stage, in order to achieve the goals of the Egyptian education system in building humanity and achieving the goals of sustainable development and Egypt’s Vision 2030.

Dr. Ayman Ashour explained that the common vision between the Ministries of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the Ministries of Education and Technical Education, stems from studying the requirements of the labor market. To provide a qualified graduate with various skills and needs necessary for current and future jobs.

Dr. Ayman Ashour also reviewed the foundation year system, which aims to prepare the student to enter the university stage, and reduce the knowledge gap between the outcomes of general education and the performance requirements at the university stage. With the aim of providing university students with the skills and competencies that qualify them to enter the labor market.

The Minister of Higher Education stressed that the foundation year system is flexible and relies on the credit hours system, and aims to provide admission opportunities in private, private and technological universities, in addition to reducing the number of expatriate students wishing to obtain study opportunities outside the country.

For his part, Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, stressed the importance of the participation of all concerned parties, which contributes to unifying efforts, ensuring everyone’s understanding, and enhancing confidence in the education system, noting that the goal of submitting the proposal for the “Fateful Baccalaureate” system at this time is to Introducing it to community dialogue with all concerned parties in a large and effective manner.

Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif added that the Council of Ministers’ approval is preliminary to present the development program for community dialogue, stressing that all proposals submitted to achieve what is best will be studied and discussed.

The minister continued by reviewing the details of the proposal for the Egyptian baccalaureate certificate, stressing that one of the most important goals of the proposed system is to achieve a better future for students, and to provide them with an educational system without psychological pressure or a financial or moral burden on parents.

He said: “There are many specializations that will be available in the future, and the field of programming alone, as one of the tracks for which the new Egyptian baccalaureate system is directed, will have good luck because it includes many fields of multiple subspecialties that are in great demand in the labor market.”

During the dialogue session, teachers, representatives of the boards of trustees, parents, and teachers presented many ideas, proposals, and visions regarding the mechanisms for implementing the new baccalaureate degree system, the study system and curricula, in addition to the evaluation and examination systems, discussing the general rules for total grades, and allowing multiple attempts to take examinations in different subjects.

The attendees also appreciated the goal of the “Egyptian Baccalaureate” system, which is to improve the quality of the educational system in Egypt.
