Egypt Daily News – The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that ‘the list of prisoners received from Hamas is acceptable to them.’
Israeli media reported that “military censorship allows the publication of the names of the prisoners scheduled to be released tomorrow from Gaza.”
Abu Ubaida, the spokesman for the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced via his Telegram account that the brigades have decided to release the following “Zionist prisoners” tomorrow, Saturday:
- Sasha Alexander Troubenov
- Sagi Dekel Han
- Yair Horn
Meanwhile, Abu Hamza, the spokesman for the Al-Quds Brigades, stated in a press release today that prisoner Alexander Turbanov will be released tomorrow, Saturday, as part of the sixth batch of the first phase of the exchange deal.
According to the Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, 76 Israeli prisoners remain in Gaza. It is expected that 17 of them will be released as part of the first phase of the agreement, including nine who are believed to be still alive.
The Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement, also stated: “We will release prisoner Alexander Turbanov tomorrow as part of the sixth batch of the first phase of the exchange deal with Israel.”
Earlier, senior Hamas official Taher Al-Nunu emphasized the importance of immediately starting negotiations for the second phase, stressing that the role of mediators is to overcome obstacles to the agreement.
Al-Nunu explained that the humanitarian aspect is directly linked to the issue of prisoners and the ceasefire. He noted that Hamas is keen on reaching an agreement that ensures an end to the fighting while obligating Israel to fully implement its commitments.
