Egypt Daily News – The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office announced on Wednesday that Israel will appeal against the two arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Galant.

The statement said: “The State of Israel does not recognize the authority of the International Criminal Court and the legitimacy of the arrest warrants issued against the former Prime Minister and Minister of Defense.”

This announcement came after Netanyahu met with US Senator Lindsey Graham in Jerusalem on Wednesday. The statement added that Graham informed Netanyahu that he would work to strengthen measures in Congress against the International Criminal Court and the countries that cooperate with it.

The statement added: “If the court rejects the appeal, this will make it clearer to Israel’s friends in the United States and the world how biased the International Criminal Court is against the State of Israel.”

When the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu, Gallant and a senior Hamas official last week, it accused them of committing war crimes and genocide during and after the October 7 attacks on Israel and the Israeli attack on Gaza that followed.
