Egypt Daily News – The Ministry of Transport, through the National Authority for Tunnels and the Egyptian Company for Metro Management and Operation, has implemented a price increase for metro tickets, effective from Thursday, August 1. The new ticket prices for the elderly and people with disabilities are as follows:
- Senior ticket for up to 9 stops: 4 pounds
- Senior ticket for up to 16 stops: 5 pounds
- Senior ticket for up to 23 stations: 8 pounds
- Senior ticket for up to 39 stations: 10 pounds
- People with disabilities ticket: 5 pounds
These changes aim to better align the pricing structure with operational costs while providing accessible options for vulnerable groups.
