Egypt Daily News – The assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the Hamas political bureau, has sparked significant outrage and threats of retaliation from Iranian officials.

President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that Iran will make the “terrorist occupiers” regret their actions, reaffirming the country’s commitment to defending its dignity and territorial integrity.

Haniyeh was reportedly killed in Tehran shortly after attending Pezeshkian’s inauguration ceremony, and his assassination is being investigated by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.

While no group has officially claimed responsibility for the attack, there is widespread suspicion directed towards Israel, which has previously vowed to target Haniyeh and other Hamas leaders. This incident is expected to escalate tensions in the region.
