Egypt Daily News – Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, met today with a number of heads of states, governments and international institutions, including: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, Crown Prince of Kuwait, and Rajab Tayyip Erdogan, President of the Republic of Turkey, Shahbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of Pakistan, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, Chairman of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, and Crystalina Georgieva, Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund, and others.
This came on the sidelines of his participation in the high-level segment of the twenty-ninth session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Counselor Mohamed Al-Homsani, the official spokesman for the Council of Ministers, said: These meetings witnessed the discussion of ways of joint cooperation in a number of files, including the files related to combating climate change and green transformation, and the depth of the political and economic relations linking Egypt and those countries participating in the summit was emphasized.
The meetings touched on the importance of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change summit, as it is an important opportunity to strengthen cooperation mechanisms between different countries in order to achieve sustainability, and to determine the obligations of states parties with regard to procedures for dealing with the issue of climate change.
The Prime Minister met with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Dr. Mostafa Madbouly affirmed his pride in the strategic partnership relations between Egypt and the sisterly United Arab Emirates, indicating the keenness of both sides to deepen this partnership in a way that achieves the interest of the peoples of the two countries in various fields.
In his meeting with the Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly welcomed Kristalina Georgieva, expressing his happiness at the successful cooperation model between Egypt and the International Monetary Fund.
The Executive Director of the Fund also expressed her appreciation for the Egyptian state, its leadership and government, as well as her appreciation for the government’s efforts and the successful and tangible steps regarding implementing the economic reform program and the progress that the state has achieved in this context.
During his meeting with the Crown Prince of Kuwait, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly affirmed Egypt’s support for the measures taken by Kuwait to achieve Kuwait Vision 2035, and praised the outcomes of the 13th session of the Egyptian-Kuwaiti Joint Committee, which was held in Egypt during the period from 10 to 12 September 2024.
The Prime Minister also expressed Egypt’s interest in supporting the participation of Egyptian companies in development projects in sisterly Kuwait, stressing the Egyptian state’s appreciation for Kuwaiti support for development efforts in Egypt.
