Egypt Daily News – President El-Sisi held a phone call today with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of Bahrain.
The official spokesperson for the Presidency stated that the call addressed developments in the regional situation. The two leaders expressed deep concern over the ongoing escalation between Israel and Iran, warning of the potential expansion of the conflict and its serious consequences for all countries in the region.
They emphasized the need for all parties to act responsibly and work toward resolving the current crisis through negotiation and peaceful means, stressing the importance of the international community assuming its responsibilities in this regard.
Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, the official spokesperson, added that the two leaders stressed that the current escalation in the region is fundamentally linked to the continued Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip.
They affirmed the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and warned of the humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in the Strip. The leaders emphasized the necessity of delivering immediate and urgent humanitarian aid to save the people of Gaza and reaffirmed that the establishment of a Palestinian state based on the June 4, 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital is the only guarantee for regional stability.
The spokesperson further noted that the call reaffirmed the depth of relations between Egypt and Bahrain and the commitment of the leadership of both countries to strengthen these ties across all fields in a way that fulfills the aspirations of their brotherly peoples for progress and prosperity.
