President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi reaffirmed on Monday his country’s unwavering commitment to supporting the Palestinian people, emphasizing Egypt’s rejection of any attempts to displace them from their land or undermine their rights. His remarks came during the extraordinary Arab-Islamic summit held in Doha to address the recent Israeli attack on Qatari territory.

“Egypt will continue to stand by the Palestinian people in their struggle to remain on their land and to preserve their identity and legitimate rights under international law,” President El-Sisi said during his address. He stressed that Egypt opposes all forms of dispossession, including settlement expansion, land annexation, and forced displacement, warning against what he described as attempts to justify these actions through “unacceptable narratives and pretexts.”

The president firmly rejected any proposals or schemes that could lead to the displacement of Palestinians, stating that such ideas lack both legal and moral legitimacy. “They will only serve to escalate the conflict and destabilize the entire region,” he warned.

President El-Sisi called for a serious and decisive approach to resolving the Palestinian issue, which he described as the key to achieving long-term stability in the Middle East. He reiterated Egypt’s long-standing position that a just and comprehensive resolution must be based on the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Looking ahead, El-Sisi pointed to the upcoming Two-State Solution Conference, set to take place on September 22 on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. He described the event as a potential turning point toward achieving a sustainable and fair resolution to the Palestinian issue, particularly through the international recognition of the State of Palestine.

He renewed his call for immediate recognition of Palestinian statehood by all countries that have yet to take that step, calling it “the only viable path to preserve the two-state solution and ensure lasting peace.”

The emergency summit in Doha was convened in response to a recent Israeli airstrike that targeted residential sites in the Qatari capital believed to be housing senior Hamas figures. The attack was widely condemned across the Arab and Islamic world as a violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and a dangerous provocation that threatens to further destabilize the region.

Ahead of the summit, foreign ministers and representatives from 57 Arab and Islamic countries held a preparatory meeting in Doha on Sunday evening. The closed-door session focused on drafting a unified statement in response to the Israeli strike, which is expected to be finalized and released in the coming days.
