President El-Sisi receives his Lebanese counterpart at Al-Ittihadiya Palace

Egypt Daily News – President El-Sisi received his Lebanese counterpart, General Joseph Aoun, on Monday morning at Al-Ittihadiya Palace.

The Lebanese Presidency shared photos of the meeting on its official page on the platform X, showing moments from the encounter between the two leaders.

The visit aims to explore ways to strengthen bilateral relations between Egypt and Lebanon across various fields, reflecting the deep historical and fraternal ties between the two nations and their peoples.

According to the official spokesperson for the Egyptian Presidency, the talks are expected to cover current regional developments and discuss joint efforts to restore security and stability in the region. The discussions will also emphasize the importance of enhancing Arab coordination to address the challenges threatening Arab national security.

General Joseph Aoun, accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Youssef Raji, arrived at Cairo International Airport earlier today for a one-day official visit to Egypt, at the invitation of President El-Sisi.

Upon arrival, he was received by Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Dr. Mahmoud Esmat, Lebanese Ambassador to Cairo Ali Al-Halabi, Counselor Rehab Abou Zein, Lebanese Consul General in Cairo Dani Barbarie, Consul Farah Siblini, Lebanese Consul General in Alexandria Abeer Ali, and Middle East Airlines’ Cairo Office Director Maya Hammoudi.

Following a welcoming ceremony, Aoun and Minister Esmat proceeded through a guard of honor to the presidential lounge at the airport. The Lebanese president and his accompanying delegation then headed to Al-Ittihadiya Palace for official talks with President El-Sisi. A joint press conference is scheduled to follow, after which President El-Sisi will host a luncheon in honor of the visiting delegation.
