Egypt Daily News – President El-Sisi received a phone call on Thursday from UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, according to a statement by presidential spokesperson Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy.

The two leaders discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between Egypt and the United Kingdom, reviewing the overall state of economic, trade, and investment cooperation. Both sides expressed a mutual desire to further develop these ties and explore new avenues of collaboration across various sectors. They also reaffirmed their commitment to continued political consultation and coordination in pursuit of their shared interests.

The conversation also addressed key regional issues, particularly the situation in the Gaza Strip. Prime Minister Starmer listened to President El-Sisi’s assessment of the crisis and Egypt’s ongoing efforts—undertaken in coordination with Qatar and the United States—to secure a ceasefire and facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid.

President El-Sisi reiterated Egypt’s firm rejection of any attempts to forcibly displace Palestinians or undermine the Palestinian cause. He emphasized the importance of translating the current international support for the Arab-Islamic plan to rebuild Gaza into practical steps that can be implemented immediately once a ceasefire is achieved.

The Egyptian President also praised the UK’s positive stance on recent developments related to the Palestinian issue and the situation in Gaza.

Both leaders agreed to continue coordination on regional and international developments moving forward.
