Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call from French President Emmanuel Macron.

The Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, said the call emphasized the deep relations between the two friendly countries, and their keenness to enhance cooperation across various fields to meet the aspirations of the two peoples. The two presidents confirmed the importance of continuing consultation and coordination between them on regional and international issues of common interest.

The two presidents also exchanged views on the regional developments. President El-Sisi reviewed Egypt’s efforts to ensure the full implementation of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip and the exchange of hostages and captives, as well as its efforts to deliver humanitarian aid into the Strip in order to save it from the humanitarian tragedy it is facing.

This is in addition to planning to urgently begin efforts to rebuild the Strip in a way that contributes to restoring stability to the people of the Strip and making it viable. The President stressed the need for the international community to bear its responsibilities to support the implementation of the two-state solution, which represents the basic guarantee for restoring stability in the region.

The French president expressed his appreciation for the Egyptian efforts, noting Egypt’s pivotal role in achieving regional stability, and stressing France’s support for the Egyptian efforts in this regard.

The call also touched on the situation in Syria. Both presidents expressed their commitment to Syria’s unity and territorial integrity. Regarding Lebanon, the two presidents affirmed their support for the Lebanese presidency and government, noting the importance of underpinning the ceasefire agreement, which would allow for the restoration of stability in Lebanon and the realization of its people’s aspirations for security and prosperity.
