Egypt Daily News – President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s scheduled visit to Washington will be postponed and until further notice.
Sources confirmed that “Cairo is angry with statements from Israel and America and has sent a clear message to Washington.” They also confirmed that “Egypt rejected three proposals regarding Gaza, all of which involve displacement and no return.”
Egypt has not officially commented on the postponement of the visit, but senior Egyptian officials described relations with Washington as the most tense in three decades, following what they said were extremely negative reactions from the Trump administration to Egypt’s concerns about the proposal.
According to sources, Cairo is adhering to its position of rejecting any plans aimed at relocating Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to other areas, emphasizing that this option is not included in its policies regarding the Palestinian issue.
The reports also confirmed that Egyptian authorities have completely ruled out the possibility of allocating any geographical area within its territory to accommodate Gazans, clarifying that this stance has been finalized and that any proposal involving such an approach will not be open for discussion.
The sources revealed that Egypt has a clear plan for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip without resorting to the displacement of its population, as part of its efforts to ensure stability in Gaza and prevent any forced demographic changes.
Regarding recent U.S. positions, the sources reported that Egypt has requested clarifications from Washington concerning the statements made by U.S. President Donald Trump, which included talk of potential sanctions. Cairo emphasized that it is closely monitoring developments in this matter.
