President Sisi discusses with Madbouly and Al-Azhari confronting extremism and terrorism

Egypt Daily News – President Sisi, along with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Minister of Endowments Osama Al-Azhari, convened to outline the Ministry of Endowments’ upcoming work plan, focusing on four key areas.

The main objectives discussed include:

  1. Combating Religious Extremism and Terrorism: This encompasses efforts to address all forms of religious extremism, as well as non-religious extremism and moral decline.
  2. Building Humanity and Civilization: Strengthening initiatives aimed at fostering humanity and developing a civilization is another critical focus.
  3. Promoting Religious Awareness: Al-Azhari highlighted the ministry’s goal of cultivating sound religious awareness among Egyptians. This is to be achieved through a renewed religious discourse and the enhancement of preaching methods, with a special emphasis on increasing women’s participation in these areas.
  4. Preparations for the 35th International Conference: The meeting also involved discussions regarding the upcoming International Conference of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs. Scheduled for August 25 and 26, this conference will focus on “The Role of Women in Building Awareness,” aiming to celebrate and recognize women’s contributions to family, community, and national development.

Overall, the meeting was centered around renewing and enhancing religious discourse, addressing extremism in various forms, and underscoring the essential role of women in these efforts.
