Egypt Daily News – President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Lieutenant General Charles Brown, Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff where he emphasized the need for a decisive pause in the ongoing regional tensions during a meeting with .

This meeting, which also included Egypt’s Minister of Defense and the US Ambassador to Cairo, focused on the current developments in the Middle East.

President Sisi called for greater efforts from the international community to de-escalate tensions, particularly cautioning against the dangers of a new front opening in Lebanon and underscoring the importance of maintaining Lebanon’s stability and sovereignty.

President Sisi also advocated for collaborative efforts involving Egypt, the US, and Qatar to achieve an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and facilitate the exchange of prisoners, which he believes is essential to promote calm and stability in the region.

He highlighted the urgent humanitarian needs of the Palestinian population in Gaza and called for an immediate cessation of hostilities to allow for the delivery of necessary relief and medical aid.

Lieutenant General Brown reiterated the United States’ appreciation for Egypt’s crucial role in fostering regional stability and expressed a desire to enhance military cooperation between the two nations.
