President Sisi to Tanzanian President Hassan: We are keen to support development efforts in the Nile Basin countries

Egypt Daily News – President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi stressed Egypt’s keenness to provide all forms of support for development efforts in sister countries, especially the Nile Basin countries.

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Tanzanian President Samia Hassan, on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

In this regard, ways to enhance cooperation between the Nile Basin countries were discussed, in a way that enhances consensus among those countries to achieve the interests of their peoples, within the framework of continuous coordination and collective work to achieve common development aspirations in a way that achieves gains for all parties without harming any party.

The spokesman for the Presidency stated that the meeting discussed ways to deepen the strong historical fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries, in light of the common interest in strengthening all aspects of cooperation, especially in light of the strong boost that these relations have received in recent years, especially in the economic and trade fields.

As well as at the level of cooperation in the agricultural and livestock sectors, and between the private sectors in the two countries.

The meeting touched on the Egyptian efforts to complete the construction of the Julius Nyerere Dam, which is built on an inland river in Tanzania, where the Tanzanian President praised the Egyptian support, emphasizing the importance of this important development project.
