Egypt Daily News – The Kremlin announced that President Vladimir Putin affirmed during his meeting with U.S. presidential envoy Steve Witkoff on Friday that the Russian side is ready to negotiate with Ukraine without preconditions. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated in a press briefing:
“During yesterday’s conversation with Trump’s envoy, Steve Witkoff, Vladimir Putin reiterated that the Russian side is ready to resume the negotiation process with Ukraine without any preconditions.”
Peskov noted that “Putin has spoken about this matter several times before.” President Putin held the meeting with Witkoff at the Kremlin on Friday, and it lasted around three hours.
For his part, former U.S. President Donald Trump described the meeting between Putin and Witkoff as “good.”
In a post earlier today on the “Truth Social” platform, Trump also described the comprehensive peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine as progressing smoothly, expressing optimism about their potential success.
