Putin discusses with the UAE President ways to resolve the Ukraine crisis and restore relations with the US

Egypt Daily News – The Kremlin reported on Monday that Russian President Vladimir Putin had a phone conversation with UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, noting that Putin expressed his gratitude for the UAE’s mediation in the prisoner exchange between Moscow and Kyiv.

“The Russian side expressed gratitude for the effective mediation assistance provided by the UAE in the process of exchanging detainees between Russia and Ukraine,” the Kremlin stated.

The statement added, “The two leaders discussed the current development of Russian-American dialogue to find ways for a peaceful resolution of the Ukrainian conflict and to normalize bilateral relations between Moscow and Washington.”

It continued, “Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed his support for the efforts undertaken by Russia and the United States and specifically welcomed the expert group consultations between the two countries taking place today in Riyadh.”

According to the statement, Putin and the UAE President value the level of relations between their countries, emphasize the importance of implementing mutually beneficial projects, and maintain close coordination within the OPEC+ framework.

Vladimir Putin also extended his congratulations to Mohamed Al Nahyan and the entire Emirati people on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.

Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the release of 175 Russian soldiers from territories controlled by the Kyiv regime, noting that the UAE provided humanitarian mediation in the return of the Russian fighters.
