Egypt Daily News – Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed that allowing Western systems for Kyiv to strike deep into Russian territory with long-range weapons would mean that NATO has directly intervened in the Ukrainian crisis.

Putin stated – according to the “Russia Today” website – that “Ukrainian forces have been launching strikes deep into Russian territory for a long time, but the use of long-range Western weapons for this purpose would mean that Western armies would be directly carrying out the attack on Russian soil.”

He added, “We are not talking about allowing or preventing the Kyiv regime from carrying out strikes on Russia; they do that anyway. But when it comes to using long-range precision weapons, that’s a completely different story.”

The Russian president explained that the Ukrainian army is unable to carry out strikes with the appropriate weapons, as this can only be done using American and European satellites.

He continued: “It is extremely important, and perhaps fundamental, that the flight missions for these missile systems can, in fact, only be carried out by military personnel from NATO countries.” “We are talking about making a decision on whether NATO countries will participate directly in the military conflict or not.”

He emphasized that “if this decision is made, it will only mean the direct involvement of NATO countries: the United States and European countries in the war in Ukraine.”
