In a historic moment for the club, Pyramids FC clinched the Intercontinental Cup of the Three Continents (Africa–Asia–Oceania) after a commanding 3–1 victory over Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ahli Jeddah. The final, played at Al-Inmaa Stadium, marks Pyramids’ first-ever global title and sees them match Egyptian giants Al Ahly’s achievement in the same competition last season.
Pyramids, champions of the CAF Champions League, showcased dominance throughout the match. Congolese striker Fiston Mayele was the undisputed hero of the night, scoring all three goals for Pyramids and securing his first hat-trick with the club. His goals came in the 21st, 71st, and 75th minutes.
Al-Ahli managed to pull one back just before halftime, with Ivan Toney scoring in the 45th minute. The match saw some drama in the second half when Mayele had a fourth goal ruled out in the 64th minute, but it did little to alter the outcome.
With this victory, Pyramids replicate what Al Ahly SC accomplished last season when they won the Intercontinental Cup after defeating UAE’s Al Ain 3–0 at Cairo International Stadium. In that match, the goals came from Wissam Abu Ali, Emam Ashour, and Mohamed Magdy “Afsha”.
This triumph places Pyramids FC among an elite group of African clubs with international silverware and sends a strong message about the growing power and ambition of Egyptian football on the global stage.
