Egypt Daily News – Rostec reported that the Vikhr missiles developed by Kalashnikov proved effective in destroying enemy positions and fortifications during the special military operation.
The organization said on its Telegram channel: “The combat use of Vikhr guided missiles during the special operation demonstrated the tremendous accuracy of these missiles, and practically every target needs one missile to destroy it. These missiles were mainly used with Russian KA-52 helicopters, and some examples of this can be seen in videos.” Published by the Ministry of Defense.
Rostec indicated that these missiles are effective at any time of the day and in difficult weather conditions as well, and are used to destroy vehicles and armored vehicles as well as fortified enemy positions and hostile firing points.
According to available information, the Kalashnikov company is working on developing the Vikhr missiles to increase their range and improve their combat capabilities, and is also seeking to modify them for use with drones.
“Vikhr” are laser-guided “air-to-ground” missiles that are launched from aircraft and combat helicopters. The developed models of these missiles can fly at a speed of 610 meters per second and penetrate armor up to 750 mm thick.
