Egypt Daily News – Liverpool defeated Manchester City 2-0 in a match held at Etihad Stadium, as part of the 26th round of the English Premier League 2024/2025 season.
Liverpool’s first goal came in the 15th minute through Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, who scored with a shot inside the penalty area following a pass from his Hungarian teammate Dominik Szoboszlai.
In the 31st minute, Marmoush scored for Manchester City, but the goal was disallowed due to offside.
Szoboszlai doubled Liverpool’s lead in the 37th minute with a low shot inside the box, following a brilliant individual effort from Salah, who skillfully dribbled past Gvardiol.
Curtis Jones scored another goal for Liverpool in the 56th minute, but it was disallowed after a VAR review for offside.
In the 58th minute, Marmoush fired a shot from inside the penalty area, but Alisson Becker saved it, resulting in a corner kick.
Pep Guardiola substituted Omar Marmoush for German midfielder Ilkay Gündogan in the 77th minute.
Liverpool’s coach, Arne Slot, replaced Mohamed Salah with Harvey Elliott in the 92nd minute.
With this victory, Liverpool moved to the top of the Premier League table with 64 points, while Manchester City remained in fourth place with 44 points.
