Egypt Daily News – Dutchman Arne Slot, Liverpool’s coach, spoke about Mohamed Salah, the Reds star, missing a penalty kick during the team’s match against Real Madrid in the fifth round of the Champions League.
Arne Slot said in statements to Sky Italia: “Mohamed Salah wasting the penalty kick was not because he was distracted as a result of the renewal negotiations.”
The Dutchman added: “This is not true. Missing penalty kicks is something that may happen, and it does not mean that Mohamed Salah is distracted by talking about the contract.”
Salah had missed a penalty kick during Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Real Madrid in the group stage of the Champions League.
Salah caused a widespread uproar after his recent statements that he had not received any official offer from the Liverpool administration regarding renewing the contract and that the chances of his departure were greater than his stay, which caused strong reactions.
His contract with Liverpool expires on June 30, 2025, and the Egyptian international is strongly on the radar of several Top European and American clubs.
