Egypt Daily News – Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Russian State Duma, Leonid Slutsky, stated that striking the Russian rear with American missiles will inevitably lead to a dangerous escalation.
Slutsky’s statement came as a comment on a report published by the American newspaper The New York Times, which stated that US President Joe Biden allowed Ukraine to launch strikes on Russian territory with American tactical ballistic missiles (ATACMS).
Slutsky explained that striking the Russian depths with American missiles will inevitably lead to a more dangerous escalation, which threatens to turn into more escalatory consequences, indicating that the Biden administration cannot help but realize that it is leaving to the team of US President-elect Donald Trump not only the solution to the conflict in Ukraine, Rather, the most acute problem is preventing a global confrontation, as he put it.
The Russian official indicated that White House officials refused to comment on the news, adding: “It seems that Biden has decided to end his presidential term and enter history as ‘Bloody Joe.’” If the newspaper’s sources are confirmed, this will mean only one thing: direct American participation in the military conflict.
In Ukraine, this will inevitably entail a harsher response from Russia, based on the threats that our country will face, as he put it.
Earlier, The New York Times reported that Joe Biden granted Kiev permission to strike the Russian depths with long-range American weapons.
Later, the French newspaper “Le Figaro” reported that France and Britain allowed Kiev to launch strikes into the Russian interior with long-range “Storm Shadow/Scalp” missiles.
