Egypt Adheres to the Principles and Parameters of a Political Settlement to the Palestinian Issue
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirms Egypt’s adherence to the principles and parameters of a political settlement of the Palestinian issue, stressing that it remains the central issue in the Middle East, and that the delay in resolving it in ending the occupation and restoring the usurped rights of the Palestinian people, is the main cause of instability in the region.
In this context, Egypt expresses its continued support for the steadfastness of the Palestinian people on their land and their commitment to their legitimate rights to their land and homeland, as well as to the principles of international law and international humanitarian law. It also emphasizes its rejection of any infringement on those inalienable rights, whether through settlement activity, annexation of land, or by emptying the land of its owners through displacement, or by encouraging the transfer or uprooting of Palestinians from their land, whether temporarily or long-term, in a manner that threatens stability, risks expanding the conflict in the region, and undermines the prospects for peace and coexistence among its peoples.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls on the international community, in this regard, to work toward the actual implementation of the two-state solution, including the establishment of the Palestinian state over its entire national territory, within the framework of the unity of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the June 4, 1967 lines.
