Egypt Daily News – An official source inside Zamalek revealed a huge surprise regarding the renewal of the contract of Ahmed Sayed “Zizo,” the star of the white team, whose contract with Zamalek expires at the end of the current season.

The source said that the player offered the Zamalek board of directors to pay a large sum of money as a measure of satisfaction to approve his final departure to the Saudi League without renewing his contract with Zamalek.

The source revealed the value of the amount that Zamalek will receive, in exchange for agreeing to the player’s departure this January, with a total of one and a half million dollars, consisting of 700 thousand dollars from the club to which the player will move, the value of the remaining period in his contract with Zamalek, in addition to 800 thousand dollars that Zizo will bear from the club. His own dues, as a form of appeasement to the club in order to convince the council to agree to complete the deal.

The source explained that the player informed the club management of this proposal after postponing the renewal session more than once, in light of the delay of Mamdouh Abbas, the former club president, in sending the amount that had been allocated to renew Zizo, amounting to 65 million dollars. Zizo is supposed to receive 50 million and the rest will be distributed among other players who have arrears due to Zamalek.

The past few days witnessed a state of tension between the management of the Zamalek Club, headed by Hussein Labib and the father of Ahmed Sayed Zizo, regarding the renewal of the player. The main goal of the management was for Zizo not to transfer to Al-Ahly Club, and the player was given more than one date to complete the deal and sign the contracts, but the arrival of the money promised by Mamdouh Abbas was delayed which prevented the agreement from being completed more than once.
