Egypt Daily News – The political bureau of the Ansar Allah (Houthi) group in Yemen affirmed on Saturday that the U.S. aggression would not go unanswered, stating that its forces are ready to confront escalation with equal escalation until victory is achieved.

The Houthis’ political bureau emphasized that the U.S. attacks would not deter the Yemeni people from continuing their support for Palestine and standing by the people of Gaza and their resistance, asserting that these attacks are a reaction to Yemen’s stance in support of the Palestinian cause.

The bureau further stated that the blatant aggression against Yemen proves that the U.S. is waging war on behalf of the Zionist entity, noting that targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure constitutes a war crime and is evidence of American terrorism against nations.

Houthi-affiliated media reported on Saturday that a U.S.-British attack targeted the northern part of Saada city in Saada province.

According to Houthi media sources, the initial toll of the U.S. airstrikes on the capital, Sanaa, stood at nine killed and nine wounded.

Houthi media had earlier reported that four airstrikes targeted the Al-Jarraf district in northern Sanaa.

The New York Times, citing U.S. officials on Saturday, stated that the American strikes in Yemen were also intended to send a warning signal to Iran, adding that the targeting of the Houthis’ arsenal could last several days and might expand in scope depending on their response.

U.S. officials indicated that security officials advocate for a stronger campaign that would strip the Houthis of control over parts of the country, clarifying that the strikes were carried out by fighter jets from the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman in the Red Sea.

The officials also noted that Washington and Middle Eastern authorities are anticipating a retaliatory attack from the Houthis.

Sources further revealed that the airstrikes ordered by U.S. President Donald Trump in Yemen targeted radars, air defenses, missile systems, and drones, emphasizing that these strikes aim to reopen international shipping lanes in the Red Sea that have been disrupted by the Houthis.
