Egypt Daily News – The Sudanese Minister of Culture and Information and government spokesperson, Khaled Al-Iaeser, emphasized that the liberation of Khartoum was not surprising, but rather the result of a well-planned military strategy that had been put in place long ago.

In statements on Thursday evening, he revealed the next phase of military operations, saying, “The Sudanese forces are now heading to Kordofan and then to Darfur, and we will not stop until we raise the flag of Sudan in every last geographical area on the western borders.”

He accused more than 16 countries of intervening in the ongoing war in Sudan, supporting the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), adding: “The war in Sudan has witnessed foreign interventions from a large number of countries, exceeding 16, either directly or indirectly.”

Al-Iaeser also pointed out that the RSF had brought in mercenaries in a manner “unprecedented in the history of the African continent,” citing the presence of fighters from Colombia and the Wagner Group, as well as the use of drones, which he considered “an unprecedented move for a military militia.”

He confirmed that the government’s objective was clear and defined, stating, “The battle will not stop until every inch of Sudan’s land is liberated and the militia is expelled from all the cities and villages of Sudan, not just in Khartoum and the liberated cities.”

He clarified that the liberation plan would include the Darfur region, saying: “Darfur is fundamental to the equation… We have forces and camps, and military preparations are in place for the troops to move westward to the borders of Chad, to liberate Geneina, Darfur, and the Kordofan state.”

The Sudanese army announced the liberation of the capital, Khartoum, from the RSF, which had controlled it since the war began nearly two years ago.

The army has made significant advances in several states, regaining key and strategic areas, starting with the city of Wad Medani, the capital of Al-Jazeera State (south of Khartoum), and later recovering several strategic locations in Khartoum, such as the General Command, the Central Bank, the National Intelligence Headquarters, and ultimately the Khartoum Airport, leading to the liberation of the presidential palace and the capital.
