Egypt Daily News – U.S. President Donald Trump affirmed that he is not seeking to impose his plan regarding Gaza. In recent statements, he said he was surprised by the opposition from Egypt and Jordan to his proposal to evacuate the Gaza Strip of its residents until reconstruction is completed.

He stated that the Gaza Strip has a great location, but it is currently “uninhabitable.” He added that if given the option, its residents would choose to leave, according to him.

Trump further said, “The United States will take control of Gaza under my plan, and there will be no Hamas. We will start developing it. The Strip has a great location, and I wonder why Israel abandoned it.”

Regarding Egypt and Jordan’s clear rejection of the plan to displace Palestinians, Trump said, “My plan for Gaza is good, but I will not impose it and will only recommend it. I was surprised that Egypt and Jordan did not welcome it.”

On the developments in the ceasefire agreement and the prisoner exchange between Hamas and Israeli forces, the U.S. President stated, “Hamas is trying to release the hostages who are in good condition first… Some of the hostages who were freed were in extremely poor condition, looking as if they had come out of a former German concentration camp.”

Trump continued, “Netanyahu is angry about what happened to the bodies of Israeli children yesterday, and he has the right to be. These scenes are unbelievable, extremely brutal, and unimaginable in the modern era.”
