Egypt Daily News – The UAE Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday that Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed warned against “reckless and ill-considered actions that could go beyond the borders” of Iran and Israel.
In a statement, the ministry said, “There must be swift action toward a clear goal, which is the immediate halt of what is happening before the situation spirals out of control.”
Later on Tuesday, UAE state news agency WAM reported that UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian discussed the Israeli attacks on Iran during a phone call.
According to WAM, the UAE president said his country is engaged in intensive talks with the relevant parties to help de-escalate the situation.
The agency also reported that Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed expressed solidarity with Iran and its people amid the current circumstances.
In recent years, Abu Dhabi has repaired its relations with Tehran after years of tension. The Gulf state, along with Bahrain, normalized relations with Israel in 2020.
