Egypt Daily News – Today, Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly conducted a review of various work files alongside Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchak, with key officials including Ali El-Sisi, Assistant Minister of Finance for the General Budget, Dr. Ahmed Samir, Head of the Infrastructure Budget Sector, and Magdy Mahfouz, Head of the Financing Sector also in attendance.
At the outset of the meeting, Minister Kouchak highlighted the ministry’s initiatives aimed at fostering an attractive investment environment for both local and foreign investors across a range of sectors.
He noted that over 18 meetings and sessions have been organized with specialists, experts, and business owners to discuss a recently announced package of incentives and tax facilities from the government.
The procedures and mechanisms for implementing this package, which has achieved consensus among all stakeholders, are currently being finalized.
In terms of monitoring vital financial indicators, Kouchak reported a significant rise in spending for the health and social protection sectors during the first quarter of the fiscal year.
This reflects the state’s commitment to enhancing service levels for citizens, particularly in health care, and to providing comprehensive support for low-income groups. Additionally, he mentioned improvements in the primary surplus, indicating an increase in its size.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Madbouly followed up on various financial commitments. Minister Kouchak emphasized the government’s dedication to financing the completion of the Grand Egyptian Museum project in anticipation of its operation.
He also assured that all financial commitments for the Dabaa nuclear project and funding for importing food commodities and petroleum products are being secured.
Furthermore, Minister Kouchak briefed the Prime Minister on the outcomes of his recent visit to Uzbekistan for the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank meetings, where he engaged in discussions with several international officials aimed at bolstering economic cooperation between Egypt and other nations and financial institutions.
He also presented a report on his trip to London, which included discussions with various ministers and officials.
