Egypt Daily News – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Tuesday that “Ukraine is ready for an unconditional ceasefire and has already proven this,” adding that a legal team is currently working on a draft deal regarding Ukrainian minerals to present to Washington.
Zelensky made these comments during a press conference with German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock. He also stated that he will meet on Friday with representatives from a small group of countries willing to contribute to a foreign military force in Ukraine, as Kyiv continues to push for security guarantees in any potential peace agreement with Russia.
Zelensky further noted that he is awaiting “more realistic” responses from Kyiv’s allies regarding their willingness to contribute to such a force, an initiative that Russia strongly opposes.
He urged Washington to strengthen sanctions against Russia, stating that the U.S. has all the necessary tools to do so. He also added, “Kyiv provides Washington with daily evidence of Russian violations of the ceasefire.”
Russian List
Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov confirmed earlier on Tuesday that Russia is 100% committed to refraining from targeting Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. He said, “The Russian military is strictly adhering to the ban that President Putin ordered during his phone call with U.S. President Donald Trump on March 18.”
Lavrov also confirmed that Russia had delivered a list to the U.S., as well as to the United Nations and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, detailing Ukraine’s violations of the agreement to refrain from attacking energy facilities.
In March, the two sides agreed in talks in Saudi Arabia, mediated by the U.S., to a ceasefire in the Black Sea and pledged to stop targeting energy and oil facilities in both countries. However, mutual attacks have not subsided, and both sides continue to exchange accusations and blame.
