Power cut dates for 2024. 4 regions and governorates are excluded from the load reduction plan

EgyptDailyNews - An official source at the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company said that 4 governorates and regions will be excluded from the load-reducing plan expected to be implemented starting next Monday after the end of the Eid El-Fitr holiday.

The source added on Saturday, that the four governorates and regions include (Matrouh - North Sinai - South Sinai - the Red Sea), in addition to the strategic areas that are excluded such as police stations, hospitals and important buildings.

The source explained that there are a number of vital areas that were excluded from the decision to disconnect electricity during the summer, including the North Coast and El Alamein areas, pointing out that most of these areas depend on their own electricity supply.

All industrial zones and fertilizer factories in various regions across the republic are also excluded from implementing the load-reducing plan. 

As of this Monday, the load reduction plan which has been approved by the Cabinet in July 2023 will return, with the duration of the power cut being one to two hours per day.

The Council of Ministers had also decided to set the daily power cut times to be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
