Egypt Daily News – Seven Israeli soldiers have been killed in battles with Hezbollah fighters in southern Lebanon, bringing the total casualties for the Israeli army to eight since their incursion of Lebanon.
The soldiers belonged to various units, including the Egoz Unit, Golani Brigade, and Yahalom Unit. In addition to the fatalities, an officer and four soldiers from the Egoz Unit reportedly sustained serious injuries.
Earlier on the same day, the Israeli army confirmed the death of a 22-year-old battalion commander from their commando brigade.
In response, Hezbollah claimed responsibility for attacks on Israeli forces in three different villages in southern Lebanon, asserting that clashes took place in areas such as Adaisseh and Maroun al-Ras.
The situation remains tense, with the Lebanese army reporting that Israeli forces had briefly penetrated 400 meters into Lebanese territory before withdrawing. Israel continues to reinforce its military presence in southern Lebanon, while maintaining that its operations are limited in scope.
