Egypt Daily News – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu threatened the Houthi militia with “decisive strikes” after a missile launched from Yemen landed near Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, central Israel, on Sunday.
In a recorded message, Netanyahu said: “We are acting against them in coordination with the United States. We have acted against them in the past, and we will act against them in the future.”
He added, “It’s not just a decisive strike — there will be multiple decisive strikes,” as he put it. The Israeli army confirmed that the missile, which landed in the vicinity of Ben Gurion Airport and temporarily halted air traffic, was launched from Yemen.
In a statement, the military said: “A missile launch from Yemen toward Israeli territory was detected. Several interception attempts were made, and an impact was identified near Ben Gurion Airport,” near coastal Tel Aviv.
Israeli reports indicated that both the Israeli “Arrow” (Hetz) system and the American THAAD system failed to intercept the missile.
Regarding the war in Gaza, Netanyahu said: “There is fighting in Gaza — intense fighting. We recently lost two more soldiers. We are operating there according to a decisive plan. This plan has stages, and today I will hold a cabinet meeting to discuss the next stage, based on the Chief of Staff’s proposal.”
He added, “There will be no Hamas in Gaza. That must be understood. There are various tactics to achieve that, which I obviously cannot disclose, but I can say clearly: these are our objectives — to free the hostages, and we will certainly not give up on achieving a decisive victory.”
He continued: “Israel is at war. The war is not over yet, but it will end, and we will achieve a full, decisive victory in Gaza,” according to his statement.
He went on to say: “We succeeded in toppling Bashar al-Assad’s regime in Syria, which was the land bridge between Iran and Hezbollah. We eliminated Sinwar, Haniyeh, Hassan Nasrallah, and Deif — and we will continue the war.”
