Egypt Daily News – Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, extended heartfelt congratulations to Pope Leo XIV on the occasion of his election as the new head of the Catholic Church. In his message, the Grand Imam expressed his sincere wishes for the Pope’s success in fulfilling his spiritual and humanitarian duties.
He affirmed Al-Azhar’s anticipation of continuing joint efforts with the Vatican under the new Pope’s leadership to strengthen interfaith dialogue, reinforce the values of human fraternity, and promote a culture of peace and coexistence among nations—efforts that contribute to building a more stable and hopeful future for all humanity.
