Egyptian table tennis star Hana Goda claimed the women’s singles gold medal at the Taranto 2026 Mediterranean Games after defeating Monaco’s Xiaoxin Yang 4–1 in the final.
Goda delivered a confident performance in the title match, securing another gold medal for Egypt’s delegation at the competition in the Italian city of Taranto.
Her victory highlights the strength of Egyptian table tennis and underlines her ability to continue competing successfully at the international level following an impressive run throughout the tournament.
Egypt’s delegation has continued to produce strong results at the Games, raising its medal total to 57: 23 gold, 15 silver, and 19 bronze.
Egypt is competing in 23 sports in Taranto, including archery, athletics, badminton, 3×3 basketball, boxing, canoeing and kayaking, equestrian, fencing, aquatics and short-course swimming, gymnastics, handball, judo, karate, padel, rowing, sailing, shooting, table tennis, volleyball, weightlifting, wrestling, fin swimming, and amateur skating.
Egypt ranks sixth among the countries with the most medals in Mediterranean Games history, with 620 medals overall: 156 gold, 209 silver, and 255 bronze.
