Egypt Daily News – On Saturday, the Egyptian government clarified that it will not be selling its airports to foreign entities, refuting claims circulating on social media.
The Cabinet Media Center reached out to the Ministry of Civil Aviation, which confirmed that there is no intention to sell Egyptian airports; they remain fully state-owned and under Egyptian sovereignty.
The government emphasizes its commitment to enhancing the efficiency and capacity of airports. This includes various infrastructure development projects, upgrading security systems, modernizing insurance devices, and expanding route networks by opening new markets. Additionally, the government supports low-cost aviation.
The statement highlighted that the government intends to offer the management and operation of airports to the private sector, citing its qualifications to manage such projects effectively. This approach aims to attract more investments and maximize economic returns in air transport, while also enhancing cooperation with the private sector.
