Egypt Daily News – President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi welcomed Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman , Mohamed bin Salman, during his visit to Egypt on Tuesday. President Sisi received the Crown Prince at Cairo International Airport and escorted him to Al-Ittihadiya Palace for an official reception.

During their bilateral meeting, which included Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly and delegations from both nations, President Sisi expressed warm regards to King Salman bin Abdulaziz and reiterated the importance of the strategic relationship between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, particularly given current regional threats.

He emphasized the need for cooperation and the ongoing political and institutional mechanisms to enhance bilateral ties, including the newly established Egyptian-Saudi Supreme Coordination Council, aimed at improving various aspects of their relationship.

Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salman reciprocated President Sisi’s sentiments, expressing Saudi Arabia’s commitment to strengthening their historical ties and fostering political, economic, and developmental cooperation. The leaders reviewed enhancements to their economic partnership, particularly in investment, trade, and sectors like energy, transportation, and tourism.

The discussions also focused on pressing regional issues, notably the crises in Gaza and Lebanon. Both leaders underscored the urgent need to calm tensions and emphasized that a sovereign Palestinian state, recognized by international law, is essential for lasting peace.

They called for immediate steps towards de-escalation, including a ceasefire in the affected areas, addressing humanitarian crises, and reaffirming respect for Lebanon’s sovereignty and stability.

Additionally, the two leaders discussed wider regional stability concerns, specifically the security of the Red Sea area and the situations in Sudan, Libya, and Syria, stressing the importance of collective efforts to maintain peace and security in the region.
