Egypt Daily News – Dr. Mustafa Barghouti, Secretary-General of the Palestinian National Initiative, confirmed that the Israeli narrative regarding the martyrdom of Yahya Sinwar reveals “a severe intelligence failure, not only on October 7 but over the course of an entire year, as Israel has been unable to locate or reach him.”

He added during statements to “Al Jazeera Mubasher” that “the leader, fighter, and martyr Yahya Sinwar is the one who clashed with the Israeli forces from his position, wearing his military uniform and martyred as a fighter,” emphasizing that “the Palestinian people view him as a hero who struggled, fought, and sacrificed his life for his people.”

Barghouti explained that “martyrdom is neither a loss nor a catastrophe for the Palestinian fighter; rather, it is the highest aspiration of the Palestinian combatant,” affirming that “killing al-Sinwar is neither an achievement nor a victory for them; it is the occupation that has failed, because they could not find him; rather, he found them and fought them.”

He added: “Israel is a failure, not a victor. All of Israel’s lies about Sinwar, his image, and his character have been exposed and revealed. He was not hiding in an underground tunnel; it is Netanyahu who is hiding in a tunnel.

He did not take cover behind civilians or prisoners; rather, he was a heroic fighter, leading the ranks, fighting, battling, and struggling. What more could a fighter want than this image?”

He explained that with the martyrdom of Sinwar, Netanyahu would lose the pretext he was using to continue his war on the Gaza Strip, and it would become clear to everyone that his goal is to expand the occupation and commit more ethnic cleansing crimes against the Palestinian people.
