Egypt Daily News – Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aty stressed the importance of reducing escalating tensions in the region to avert a potential large-scale war that could have severe repercussions for both regional and international peace and security.

He made these remarks during a phone conversation with Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdullah Bou Habib, where they discussed the ongoing situation in Lebanon and efforts to stabilize the region.

In the press statement, Abdel Aty condemned the Israeli army’s deliberate targeting of UNIFIL forces in southern Lebanon and reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to supporting Lebanese national institutions, particularly the Lebanese army, in achieving stability.

He also highlighted the importance of fully implementing Security Council Resolution 1701 to ensure peace and security in Lebanon.
