Egypt Daily News – Summer time ends on tonight Thursday, October 31, 2024, with the clock being set back by 60 minutes at midnight, marking the start of the winter time.
Opening and closing hours for shops and commercial malls after during winter time
This will include shops and commercial malls, in addition to restaurants, cafes, and workshops, starting from the last Thursday of September. The winter business hours are as follows:
Opening of shops and malls: from 7 AM to 10 PM.
Working hours are extended to 11 PM on Thursdays, Fridays, and official holidays.
Opening of restaurants, cafes, and bazaars: from 5 AM to midnight.
Opening of workshops and craft businesses: from 8 AM to 6 PM, except for workshops located on main roads and gas stations.
Activities exempt from closing hours
Some activities operate 24 hours a day to ensure meeting the needs of citizens, and they include:
Takeaway services for restaurants and cafes.
Grocery stores, supermarkets, pharmacies, bakeries, and fruit and vegetable markets
