Egypt Daily News – President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi spoke today with newly elected Lebanese President Joseph Aoun.
Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, the spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic, stated that the President warmly congratulated the Lebanese President on his election, stressing Egypt’s belief in the Lebanese President’s ability to lead the country during this delicate stage that Lebanon and the region are going through, and to achieve the aspirations of the brotherly Lebanese people, expressing his aspiration to meet him soon to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation between the two countries.
He added that the President affirmed that Egypt will always support Lebanon and its sovereignty, and that it is ready to provide assistance and all possible means of support to Lebanon in a way that guarantees its stability, enhances its ability to face challenges, and so that Lebanon begins a new phase in which it enjoys security and stability.
For his part, the Lebanese President appreciated the Egyptian role in supporting Lebanon and its people, stressing his pride in the historical fraternal relations that bind the two countries, and stressing his keenness to strengthen the ties that bring together the two brotherly peoples and achieve their common aspirations.
