Egypt Daily News – American and British aircraft carried out several raids targeting Houthi centers in Yemen. More than 30 joint American-British and Israeli raids targeted Houthi military sites in various areas, and the raids focused on the port of Hodeidah in Yemen in the vicinity of Al-Sabeen Square, Camp 48, Jabal Attan, Al-Hafaa camp, and the electricity station in the capital, Sana’a, as well as weapons stores, and platform tunnels, launching missiles and drones in the Harf Sufyan area between the governorates of Amran and Saada in the far north of Yemen.

Several raids also targeted the ports of Hodeidah and Ras Issa on the western coast of Yemen overlooking the sea. In addition, the Houthi group announced on Friday that its forces targeted the American aircraft carrier USS Harry Truman in the Red Sea with a number of missiles and drones.

The group’s military spokesman, Yahya Saree, said: “We targeted the US aircraft carrier Truman and a number of its warships in the northern Red Sea with a number of missiles and drones.” He added that the operation thwarted a new air attack against his group launched by Truman, pointing out that “the American aircraft carrier was forced to leave the northern Red Sea area.”

The Israeli army also said that its fighter planes struck targets in central and western Yemen, including a power station and two ports controlled by the Houthis. The targets included military infrastructure sites at the Haziz power station, and military infrastructure at the ports of Hodeidah and Ras Issa on the western coast.

The Israeli army announced that the bombing came in response to attacks repeatedly launched by the Houthis in Israel, using drones and surface-to-surface missiles. The army explained that the Israeli naval and air forces bombed targets on the western coast of Yemen and deep into the country.

Before that, the spokesman for the Ansar Allah movement (Houthis), Yahya Saree, announced that the movement targeted Tel Aviv with drones, as well as a number of targets in the occupied Jaffa region with three drones, and it was able to reach its goals successfully.

Sources said that an air strike targeted a Houthi position in the vicinity of Al-Sabeen Square in central Sanaa, while Houthi media said that American-British aircraft launched about 12 raids on Amran Governorate, north of Sanaa, noting that the raids targeted the Harf Sufyan District. In the governorate.

It stated that the raids launched, at dawn on Thursday, targeted Sana’a, Hodeidah, and Amran, with two air strikes targeting the Jarban area in Sana’a Governorate, and three raids on the Harf Sufyan District in the Amran Governorate, and the aircraft also targeted the Al-Lahiya District in the Hodeidah Governorate with a raid.

In turn, the British maritime security company Ambrey said on Friday that it had received reports of air strikes on areas controlled by the Houthis in Yemen, including the port of Ras Issa, which is the main oil export port in Yemen.

Ambrey said that the air strikes on the Yemeni port of Ras Issa targeted oil storage facilities in the vicinity of the port’s shipping docks, and that there were no reports of damage to any commercial ships.

Two days ago, the US military carried out precise strikes on Houthi facilities in Yemen, indicating that they were used to launch attacks against commercial ships in the Red Sea.

The US Central Command (Centcom) forces said in a statement, “We carried out multiple precise strikes against two underground facilities for storing advanced conventional weapons (ACW) belonging to the Iran-backed Houthis inside the territory they control in Yemen.”

The statement also said that the Houthis used these facilities to launch attacks against warships and commercial ships of the US Navy in the southern Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.

The statement indicated that there were no casualties to individuals or damage to American equipment, stressing that these strikes are part of the efforts of the US Central Command to reduce the attempts of the Iranian-backed Houthis to threaten regional partners and military and commercial ships in the region.

On the other hand, Houthi media announced at the time that there had been 5 American-British raids on the Harf Sufyan District in Amran Governorate, and two raids on the Sanhan District in Sana’a.

The Iran-aligned group in Yemen has been attacking commercial ships in the Red Sea for more than a year in an attempt to impose a naval blockade on Israel, saying it is acting in solidarity with the Palestinians in Israel’s ongoing war in Gaza since October 7, 2023.

While the US-led coalition responded by launching raids for months, targeting Houthi sites in various regions of Yemen due to naval attacks, which was met with a response from the group from time to time.
