Egypt Daily News – Israel confirmed Tel Aviv’s adherence to the 1979 peace accord in a statement to Egypt, while the United States said Washington had no intention of provoking conflict with Egypt or other Arab nations over the Gaza issue.

Following the 1978 Camp David Accords, the late Egyptian President Anwar El-Sadat and Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin signed the Egypt–Israel peace treaty in Washington in 1979.

Sources said on Saturday that Egypt cautioned Israel against limiting Palestinians’ ability to return after receiving medical care in Cairo. Egypt also reiterated to US President Donald Trump’s team that it opposes any forced relocation from the Gaza Strip.

On Thursday, Egypt warned of the repercussions of statements made by members of the Israeli occupation government regarding the start of a “plan to displace the Palestinian people from their land.” The Foreign Ministry’s statement said Egypt will not be part of any proposal to relocate Palestinians from their land.

The Foreign Ministry’s statement considers these statements a blatant violation of international law and calls for accountability, emphasizing that Egypt will not be part of any proposal to relocate Palestinians from their land and that Cairo will work with partners to rebuild Gaza without leaving its people.

Furthermore, Egypt has insisted that Israel give a precise schedule for permitting the entry of heavy machinery into Gaza.

In accordance with Trump’s plan for Gaza, Israel announced on Thursday that it had started making arrangements for a mass exodus of Palestinians from the region. Trump, however, stated on Friday that he was not in a rush to follow on with his shocking plan for Gaza, which calls for the US to occupy the territory and drive out its Palestinian residents.

Cairo, meanwhile, reiterated its unequivocal opposition to any plan or proposal to end the Palestinian cause by forcing Palestinians to leave
