President El-Sisi Receives Phone Call from President of the Lebanese Republic

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call from President of the Lebanese Republic General Joseph Aoun.

Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shannawy, stated that President El-Sisi welcomed the announcement of a ceasefire in Lebanon, praising the efforts of the Lebanese state to extend the authority of national institutions across all of Lebanon’s territory.

The President further commended the endeavors aimed at restoring security and stability, and ensuring the sustainability of the ceasefire.

In this context, President El-Sisi reviewed Egypt’s efforts to support Lebanon and insulate it from current regional tensions and crises.

The President also emphasized Egypt’s full condemnation of any attack on Lebanon’s security, sovereignty, and its people’s resources.

President Aoun expressed his appreciation for Egypt’s steadfast stance in solidarity with Lebanon and support for the Lebanese people.
He expressed gratitude to President El-Sisi for his great commitment to supporting Lebanon.

The Lebanese president further reviewed the progress of direct negotiations taking place under U.S. auspices.

He stressed the Lebanese state’s position of adhering to reaching a just and sustainable peaceful settlement that preserves Lebanon’s sovereignty, the security of its people, and its territorial integrity and unity.

The two presidents concurred on intensifying communication and coordination between the two countries in the coming period.
