Egypt Daily News – American aid distribution centers in the Gaza Strip were closed on Saturday until further notice after two American soldiers were injured in a bomb explosion, following the killing of hundreds of aid seekers in an Israeli airstrike.
The “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation” announced on Saturday that two American aid workers were slightly injured in a targeted attack on a food distribution site in Gaza, according to the Palestinian Ma’an News Agency.
The foundation, which is supported by the United States and Israel, stated that the attack is believed to have been carried out by two assailants who threw hand grenades.
It added that the injured Americans are receiving medical treatment and are in stable condition, according to Reuters.
Two days earlier, the Ministry of Interior in Gaza warned against any dealings with the American “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation” (GHF), accusing it of being a trap for mass death and humiliation, and a systematic violation of dignity and human rights.
The Ministry of Interior and National Security in the Gaza Strip issued this warning to anyone who deals, collaborates, or interacts directly or indirectly with the “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation,” its local agents, or anyone affiliated with it outside the Gaza Strip, under any name or circumstance.
The Ministry’s statement said: “It has become clear that this foundation was not established for relief or to ease the suffering of our besieged and starving people. Rather, due to its structure and methods of military and security operations, it has turned into traps for mass death, and centers of humiliation and systematic violations of human dignity and rights.”
