Egypt Daily News – Dr. Nazir Ayad, the Grand Mufti, announced in a press conference on Friday evening that the Egyptian Dar Al-Ifta has sighted the crescent moon of Ramadan for the year 1446 AH. After confirming the official sighting, it was determined that tomorrow, Saturday, March 1, 2025, will be the first day of Ramadan in Egypt.
In a related context, several Arab and Islamic countries have also declared that Saturday marks the beginning of Ramadan, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, the UAE, Palestine, Algeria, Turkey, Indonesia, and Australia.
It is worth noting that Ramadan is one of the most significant months in the Islamic calendar, during which Muslims fast from dawn until sunset, dedicating the time to worship, reflection, and strengthening social bonds.
On this occasion, Dar Al-Ifta extends its congratulations to the Islamic Ummah, praying that the month brings blessings, prosperity, and goodness to all.
