Egypt Daily News – More countries have publicly condemned Iran’s recent missile strike on Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, where thousands of U.S. military personnel are stationed. The attack, which Iran described as a retaliatory measure, has drawn sharp criticism from across the region.

Egypt and Lebanon both issued formal statements denouncing the strike. Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs called the action a dangerous escalation, while Lebanon’s President Joseph Aoun echoed the sentiment, warning of further instability if tensions are not curbed.

Oman, while also condemning Iran’s missile strike, pointed to Israel’s June 13 missile attack—described as unlawful—as the trigger for the current cycle of violence. The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that Oman opposes all regional escalations and supports a path back to dialogue.

In a show of unity, Egypt, Lebanon, and Oman expressed solidarity with Qatar and urged all parties to de-escalate and return to diplomatic channels to avoid broader conflict in the region.

The Gulf Cooperation Council, comprising Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, also condemned Iran’s actions. The bloc’s secretary general issued a statement emphasizing the need to preserve regional security and stability. Each of the six member states has individually denounced the strike as well.

The missile attack, which reportedly resulted in no casualties and minimal damage after 13 of the 14 missiles were intercepted, has intensified international calls for restraint. While Iran’s leadership insists the move was defensive, regional governments are increasingly warning that continued hostilities could lead to a wider confrontation.
