Egypt Daily News – Amid Ongoing Negotiations, Largest Egyptian Convoy of Loaders and Reconstruction Equipment Prepares to Enter Gaza via Rafah Crossing. Sources revealed on Thursday some details regarding Egypt’s plan for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.

The plan involves preparing safe zones within the Strip after the first six months, to which residents can be relocated. Subsequently, safe housing and residential units will be provided within 18 months.

Egypt’s Reconstruction Plan
The sources added that Egypt’s plan includes clearing rubble from certain areas of Gaza within the first six months and deploying mobile hospitals and schools in those areas. Additionally, Cairo plans to bring in 24 international companies and 18 consulting offices to implement Gaza’s reconstruction projects, supported by Arab and European funding.

Consultations Underway for Gaza Reconstruction Conference with Broad European Participation

It was reported that consultations are currently taking place between Egypt and Arab countries to prepare for a conference on the reconstruction of Gaza, with wide European participation.

Start of Gaza Reconstruction Process
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call yesterday, Wednesday, from Jordan’s King Abdullah II. The spokesperson for the Egyptian Presidency stated that the call focused extensively on the developments in the Palestinian territories.

The two leaders emphasized the unity of the Egyptian and Jordanian positions, including the necessity of fully implementing the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, continuing the release of hostages and detainees, and facilitating the entry of humanitarian aid as part of efforts to end the humanitarian suffering in the Strip.

The two leaders also stressed the importance of immediately beginning the reconstruction process in the Gaza Strip while ensuring that the Palestinian people are not displaced from their land. They further emphasized the necessity of halting the practices carried out by Israeli forces against Palestinians in the West Bank.
