Kremlin: The meeting between President Putin and Witkoff has begun in St. Petersburg

Egypt Daily News – The press service of the Kremlin reported today, Friday, the beginning of a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and the special envoy of the U.S. President, Steve Witkoff, in St. Petersburg.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated today, Friday, that President Vladimir Putin would discuss aspects of the settlement in Ukraine with the U.S. President’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff. Peskov told reporters, “The discussion will continue on various aspects of the Ukrainian settlement; there are many aspects, and the foundations of the issue are extremely complex.”

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov also announced today, Friday, that the U.S. President’s special envoy, Stephen Witkoff, had arrived in Russia. Witkoff had last visited Moscow on March 13, where he met with senior Russian officials, and in the evening, he was received by Vladimir Putin. In early February, Witkoff traveled to Russia to negotiate the exchange of the American Mark Vogel, convicted of drug trafficking and possession, and later participated in high-level Russian-American talks in Riyadh.
